Metropolitan Lives: The Ashcan Artists and Their New York

This work presents a collection of paintings, pastels, drawings and prints by a group of artists dubbed the "Ashcan School" by the critics. Ignoring the romantic themes of many of their contemporaries, these artists instead portrayed life at the street level in turn-of-the-century New York.
