The Practice of Chemistry

Putting chemical knowledge into practice, and making chemical knowledge practical, is the main theme of The Practice of Chemistry. The result of seven years of curriculum development, initiated by a National Science Foundation grant, the text is intended for students with a limited background in math and science and acts a tour guide through the pitfalls of preparatory chemistry. By implementing unique problem solving approaches, a unified organizational theme, and a real-world context, the authors prepare students for the standard general chemistry course, and bright futures as science majors.
