Fraud and skullduggery in the Scottish antiques trade, from an ever-popular storyteller. When Scottish landowner Jeremy Carpenter comes to the rescue of American Hazel Tripp, whose car has broken down, he little foresees the adventures their new relationship will lead him into. Hazel is a talented restorer of antiques, and Jeremy an expert on the legend of the Holy Grail. Both of them have good reason to bear a grudge against one Gordon McKennerty, a notorious local crook. Between them they pool their resources and their talents, and devise a scheme to ensure McKennerty's come-uppance once and for all.
