Product Description:
Gustave Baumann (American, b. Germany, 1881 1971) studied in Munich at a time when some of the world s most innovative block printing was being done there. In 1918 he moved to the American Southwest, where for more than fifty years he captured the crystalline light and rich colors of the landscape with affection, grace, and subtlety. This calendar presents twelve of Baumann s brilliant, meticulously crafted woodcuts, among them Rio Tesuque, The Bishop s Apricot, Ranchos de Taos, and Corn Dance Santa Clara.
