Mel Bay presents The Robert Burns Songbook Volume 2

Serge Hovey's complete collection of the songs of Robert Burns contained 324 carefully researched songs arranged for voice and piano presented in six thematic chapters. This second volume of Burns' songs from Mel Bay Publications contains 70 songs from Hovey's second chapter entitled "The Lasses." It includes songs expressing the poet's "passion" for his wife Jean, and for "that other species." Hovey presents these songs in arrangements for voice and piano with lyrics and tunes matched, as far as possible, as originally intended by Burns.
