In this book, the Dombes group in south central France, which is comprised of Roman Catholic and Reformed scholars, has taken a fresh look at the place of Mary in Christian faith and concluded that she has been more the victim than the cause of intrafaith discord. While accepting the virginal conception and motherhood of Mary, both sides recognize the need for fruitful dialogue. It is the goal of both churches to come closer together by "giving Mary the place that belongs to her in the Christian faith--her full place, of course, but also nothing but her place."
