Behind Barbed Wire: German Prisoner of War Camps in Minnesota

More than fifteen POW camps housing German captives existed in Minnesota during World War II, although most people, even most Minnesotans do not know this. This is the history of those camps, where they were, how they worked, how the POWs contributed to the Minnesota economy during the war years, and, finally, when the camps closed.
