Tzintzuntzan: Mexican Peasants in a Changing World

Foster's work is synonymous with the very best in anthropological scholarship. His study of Tzintzuntzan has long been a classic in the study of peasant communities, but the present version is even more noteworthy because Foster has been able to offer a meaningful documentation of change and modernization in this community that spans more than four decades of careful and repeated observation and study. That, in itself, is a rarity.
