Jamestown Rediscovery 1994-2004

Eighth in a series of updates on the historical and archaeological research known as APVA Jamestown Rediscovery, carried out under the auspices of the Associaton for the Preservation of Virginia Antiquities on its 22.5 acres on Jamestown Island. This volume is different from the rest of the series in that it is a synopsis of the last three seasons of excavaton and a summary of what went on before it. Because the story of the excavation results have been an accumulative one, some of the text from the previous seven Jamestown Rediscovery volumes is reprinted but usually with updated discussion. So this more lengthly and comprehensive volume does not make the other issues odsolete. Rather if the reader wishes to understand the growing pains of the analysis over the ten year life span of the project, then a reading of all the issues is in order
