Juniata College: Off the Record - College Prowler

Students come to Juniata for a lot of reasons, many of which you ll find in the brochures. It s true you ll find great science programs there. They re top notch, actually, and growing, as are most of the academic programs. Statistics will verify this. But this book wants nothing to do with statistics! Well, okay, maybe some, but just the facts. The point is, this book aims to show you what s true about the brochures and what s not, and to show what you can t see in the brochures or the statistics. For example, yes, the students that the ads rave about really are that friendly, open-minded, and hardworking. No, unfortunately, the campus is not as ethnically diverse as it might appear on paper. And more than anything, yes, Juniata is perhaps the most affably bizarre working combination of individual achievement and community support that a student can find in a school. I say that with both a writer s objectivity and an alumna s affection. It s true. If you have interest, initiative, and a bit of rationale, you can do anything anything you want here, and most students do.
