Listening to the Experts: Students With Disabilities Speak Out

This book presents the point of view of students with or at risk for disabilities and their experiences with their peers, teachers, and school administrators in special and inclusive education. It contains chapters written by several groups: students with disabilities, peers and family members of the latter group, and professionals in the field. The chapters are interwoven to reflect various topics that the students and professionals address, including student empowerment, administrative support, transitions from special education to inclusive settings, peer support, and an outlook for the future. Several chapters include tools for teachers, which add instructive support to this book.
