Product Description:
Microsoft FrontPage 2000 Web site creation and management tool is the quick, effective way for novices and experienced Web builders to create and manage professional, appealing Internet or intranet sites without knowing how to program.

The OFFICIAL MICROSOFT FRONTPAGE 2000 BOOK provides an overview of the popular Web creation and management program and its processes, along with a reference section. Readers will learn to integrate various kinds of documents into a Web site, create sites within a workgroup, and use advanced features that would otherwise be beyond their abilities. Because it's designed for those with no previous Web page production background, this book helps users quickly and easily produce Web pages using new industrial-strength Web tools such as advanced HTML and data-receiving templates, as well as Web page creation and publishing via electronic mail. Clear instructions present the fundamentals and then build upon learned skills as more complicated issues unfold.

Amazon.com Review:
Not quite a reference or a tutorial, the Official Microsoft FrontPage 2000 Book tries a little too hard to be all things to all people. Notwithstanding, whether you are an experienced Web designer or a novice, you'll find worthwhile information here covering the basics of Webs (both the Internet and intranets), wizards and templates, graphics, and advanced features like Java applets.

This book has plenty of helpful elements: ample screenshots, easily browsable chapters, and tips and sidebars for adding extra oomph to your site. Clear, well-organized, and nicely illustrated, the book carves out an intermediate niche for itself between the Step by Step and Running series. Though meatier than the former and chattier than the latter, most users will find their needs better served by one or both of the others.

Still, if you want an in-depth overview with instructions for most of the tasks you'll need to accomplish to get those pages up and running, the Official Microsoft FrontPage 2000 Book will work for you. --Rob Lightner
