In these texts, dark humor and irony are predominant; we see a skeptical vision of life that intermingles tenderness with terror. The world and its ghosts are displayed in a hallucinated, confused and at the same time, ordered manner.

The imaginary labyrinths of these stories remind us of Borges and Nabokov; and the solitude and disorientation of the characters are reminiscent of Kafka and Onetti. Paz Soldán has assimilated all these influences and is giving back his own interpretation, in which the innocent appearance of each story coexist with obsession and disorder, and the perverse is seen more normal than strange until reaching the almost always shocking end.
