Medieval Clothing and Textiles I (Medieval Clothing and Textiles)

Medieval Clothing and Textiles is a new peer-reviewed annual journal publishing original research on any aspects of dress and cloth throughout the Middle Ages. It is interdisciplinary, with papers representing such fields as social and economic history, history of techniques and technology, art history, archaeology, literary and non-literary texts, language, and experimental reconstruction of medieval techniques or artifacts. Contents of each volume are selected to cover a broad geographical scope, as well as a range of periods from early medieval to the late Middle Ages. The journal also publishes short reviews of new books. Articles are in English. The journal will be of interest to scholars working in textile and costume history, economic and social history, the history of technology, art history, archaeology, medieval languages and literatures, and gender studies, among other fields. It will have practical application for living history specialists, re-enactors, museum and gallery curators, and media costumers. The editors are Robin Netherton and Gale R. Owen-Crocker.
