Product Description:
Following the Morris Motors takeover of MG in 1935 the overhead-cam Midgets were swept aside in favour of the T-series cars with push-rod engines. The first T-type was driven by quasi-factory teams of trials drivers who recorded some good results. The 1292cc engine together with a long wheelbase and other innovations produced a better handling car. A slightly more robust engine was designed for it successor, the TB that was announced just before the outbreak of war and so few were built. After the war further changes came with the introduction of the TC. Due to government restrictions most of these were designated for export and captured the hearts of the Americans, 10,000 being built before the more modern TD arrived in 1949. The TC lent itself to being modified for racing and the super engine was used in many specials. This is a book of contemporary road and comparison tests, new model introductions specification data, technical articles, trials, touring, tuning, DIY advice, history. Models covered include:- TA, TA Tickford, TB, TB Tickford, TC, Park Ward. |
