Aspen: Body, Mind & Spirit is a colorful pictorial reflection of Aspen and its history, celebrating the timeless richness of the Aspen experience through a collection of photographs by longtime Aspen photographers, and through the chronicling of the history of the "Aspen Idea." This coffeetable book uses dramatic color photographs and a few historic b/w photos with the writing of a local writer to present current Aspen as a descendant of an earlier ideal. " The "Aspen Idea" became the philosophical underpinning of Aspen during its renaissance in the early 1950s. The resort economy overtook the ideology of the "Aspen Idea" and altered the Aspen experience, but the body, mind & spirit of the "Aspen Idea" lives, and Aspen remains a place where the human spirit flourishes.
