Larry is an amateur shooting amateurs, but somewhere in his head there is something instinctive that turns him into an artist. The way he holds the camera to fit the girl into the frame. The way he points at her so as to capture the roundness of her body. The way he relates to her and talks to her during the shoot so she responds to him. His photos are a kind of snapshot, but better than a snapshot. And conversely, a kind of set piece you see in a magazine, but more candid. The intense emotional compact between the model and the photographer is striking. For Larry, photography represents a kind of seduction. The model responds. She might be a first-timer, someone who has never done this before, and flush for the experience. Or she might have done this before, and she is the seductress. Between the two of them a naughty dance emerges.
