Dams and Appurtenant Hydraulic Structures

This work provides a comprehensive and complete overview of all kinds of dams and appurtenant hydraulic structures. The reader is guided through different aspects of dams and appurtenant hydraulic structures: general questions, design, construction, surveillance, maintenance and reconstructions of different kinds of embankment and concrete dams, hydromechanical equipment, spillway structures, bottom outlets, some special hydraulic structures, composition of structures in river hydraulic schemes, reservoirs, environmental effects of river hydraulic schemes and reservoirs and environmental protection. Special attention has been given to the advanced methods of static and dynamic analysis of embankment dams. Dams and Appurtenant Hydraulic Structures represents the most important achievements that were obtained by Ljubomir Tancev during 25 years of research and practical work in the field of dams and hydraulic structures.
